President Pervez Musharraf has said the country’s economic fundamentals are
strong and hoped the government will take steps to reverse the current
downslide.
He was addressing the participants at the national defence university
following the presentation of a national strategy paper on governance of
specially administered areas, FATA and NA’s and their impact on national
security. The president said the three-pronged strategy of addressing
military, political and socio-economic aspects was the way forward for
addressing the situation in Pakistan’s tribal areas.
